Empowering Voices: An Inside Look at Fountain Gate Foundation's Unforgettable Charity Event 2024

On November 9, 2024, the Fountain Gate Foundation hosted its annual charity event at the Fountain Gate Elite Pre and Primary School in Ihumwa. This year's event gathered notable guests, dedicated staff, and community members, all united under the mission to uplift the lives of over 500 children and youth from vulnerable and underprivileged backgrounds. The excitement in the air was palpable as attendees came together to support a cause that seeks to empower those without a voice.


The event kicked off with an inspiring opening address that immediately set a hopeful tone for the day. Attendees were filled with anticipation as they prepared to engage in activities dedicated to creating change.


Honoring Distinguished Guests


A standout moment of the event was the presence of Mr. Edward Mbogo, the esteemed Coordinator for the Network of NGOs in Dodoma, who served as the guest of honor. His speech was a powerful reminder of the essential role that NGOs occupy in empowering marginalized communities, highlighting how, over the past year, their collective efforts have provided assistance to more than 1,200 families.


Among the distinguished guests was Fountain Gate Foundation’s Director, Mr. Japhet Makau, who outlined his vision for the foundation, noting the remarkable progress made in providing educational resources. The director promising to work on some of the recommendations of various centers including visiting Kikombo Station and seeing what they are doing.

Mr. Joseph Msafiri, the dedicated principal of the Fountain Gate schools, spoke passionately about education as a tool for breaking the cycle of poverty, revealing that 85% of the students reported improved academic performance since the foundation's last initiative. He also reported the academic improvement of final mean grades in all Fountain Gate schools.


Fountain Gate international relation sent a representor who addressed the key information About International relation objectives and functions. The representor was Mr. Fred Tchalewa.


Mr. Paul Mganda, the Manager of Fountain Gate Foundation, discussed future sustainability initiatives that include expanding access to vocational training for youth. Also he explained the achievements the foundation has collected so far.







Activities and Highlights


The day was packed with engaging activities designed to entertain and involve both attendees and beneficiaries. Children from the school showcased their talents through performances that included traditional dances and poetry recitations, which captivated everyone present. Also schools from neighbor orphanages like Buigiri were invited and their shows were amazing. We had visitors from Kisedeti and Kikombo national children homes.


As with past events, a significant fundraising component took place. Community members rallied around the cause, contributing decent amount to support educational resources and programs specifically tailored for underprivileged children. These funds will directly improve access to materials such as textbooks and digital learning tools.





Community Bonding


Beyond fundraising, the charity event fostered a sense of community among families, teachers, and local leaders. Attendees shared inspiring stories and created valuable connections in support of those most in need.


Several booths were set up to educate attendees on volunteering opportunities and ways to get involved with the Fountain Gate Foundation. Visitors could learn how their efforts can directly impact the mission, with many signing up for roles that allow them to contribute effectively throughout the year.


Greeting came from different institutes who are willing to work with us as a community bond, some of them were Mutual generation international, Project you are powerful Tanzania, Lowasa and sons.


A Vision for the Future


As the event came to a close, attendees took a moment to reflect on the positivity generated throughout the day. Mr. Makau emphasized that the journey of the Fountain Gate Foundation does not end here. With each passing year, the team’s commitment to empowering children and youth strengthens.


Plans for 2025 include expanding educational programs that will serve an additional 300 children, creating mentorship opportunities, and providing critical resources such as food assistance for struggling families.
